Cute Girl Biography

Source(google.com.pk)
The Cute Girls is an Australian band, predominantly playing roots music. They have released three EPs, ''Morning Sun'', ''Goodtimes'' and ''Weight Of The World''. Plus three full length albums, ''Learn Yourself'', ''We're Already Gone'',''Ziggurats'' and ''Spooks''. This electric harmony of rock, reggae, pop and folk has drawn comparisons with Xavier Rudd, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Mason Jennings and more recently The Police. Since their formation in 2000 the group have toured extensively in Australia, Japan, North America and Europe. They have supported or been supported by many notable bands including Rogerthat, The Cat Empire, Powderfinger, Silverchair and Mason Jennings. They played at Dusty Days on March 15, 2008 in Wagga Wagga, NSW. Their single ''I Thought About You'' reached #60 in the ARIA Singles Chart.

The Cute Girls are at the forefront of the new roots and groove music movement. Both live and on record they manage to blend their affection for hip hop and reggae with their love of real blues and roots. The band brings a mellow and foxy feel to everything they touch. They rap to a resolectric, rocksteady with an acoustic and they do melody like nobody else. Each of their recordings thus far has gotten strong radio support and new album 'Learn Yourself' is no exception ... it represents not just a step but a leap in their journey.

I'm currently taking a course on reggae. We've studied the history as well as the intellectuals such as Gramsci and Benjamin. I seemed to be the only one in class who knew that reggae music was and is coming out of australia. Even my professor didn't know. However, we did go over the reggae influence in the U.K. I want to write a solid paper on the reggae, and the related (Jazz,Blues, etc.) music, scenes in Australia. Ok, here's where I need help. I've been trying to search for books, websites, etc. for good information that I can source off of. Wikipedia isn't a good idea for sourcing, even though there is interesting information. I am having trouble finding this information away from wiki. All help is awesome.

Here now is my review of the Cute Girls. I have the album, "We're Already Gone" and I enjoy every song. From the instruments to the lyrics, I never found anything I didn't like. In fact, I feel that much of the lyrics go along with what we've studied in my course.

Haha, who knows. Maybe my paper can help spread awareness past the influeces of reggae in the U.K. as well as extend the history of its already extensive one.
