Wonder Girls (Korean: 원더걸스, Chinese: 奇迹女孩, Japanese: ワンダーガールズ) is a South Korean girl group, whose current line-up is Yubin, Yeeun, Sunye, Sohee and Hyelim. They are managed by their producer, the singer-songwriter Park Jin-Young under his talent agency, JYP Entertainment.[2][3][3] They are co-managed in the United States by Creative Artists Agency.[4] The group's name, 'Wonder Girls', comes from the idea that they are "the girls who can amaze the world".[5] The group began their entry into the American market in 2009 as an opening act for The Jonas Brothers' World Tour, performing the English version of their hit single "Nobody". In late 2009, their song charted at number seventy-six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making the Wonder Girls the first South Korean group to enter the chart.[6][7]

In 2010, Wonder Girls entered the Chinese market with the compilation album Wonder Girls that included Chinese language versions of "Tell Me", "Nobody" and "So Hot".
In 2012, Wonder Girls signed with DefStar Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music Japan, for their Japanese debut.
It was announced on November 26, 2012, that the group would be taking a break because of Sunye's marriage, with the other members focusing on their own activities.

The Wonder Girls were introduced through a TV show titled MTV Wonder Girls. The first four episodes outlined the characteristics and profiles of each member and showcased their schedules for the day. Shortly after selecting Yeeun as the fifth member, the Wonder Girls held their first showcase in the MTV Studio. They performed a cover version of "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls as well as their own songs, including "Irony" and "미안한 마음" ("It's Not Love"). Sunye sang her version of Destiny's Child's "Stand Up for Love", while Hyuna performed a showcase of her dancing skills. The other three members — Yeeun, Sunmi and Sohee — performed a cover version of Janet Jackson's "Together Again".

The Wonder Girls officially debuted in early 2007 on MBC's Show! Music Core, performing "Irony", the hip-hop single from their first album, The Wonder Begins. The album sold 11,454 physical copies in 2007.[8] The Wonder Girls official fanclub was established, with the name of "Wonderfuls". The group held several showcases in China after receiving Chinese lessons.[9] During the rest of 2007, however, members of the Wonder Girls were beset by various injuries and health problems. On June 25, Sohee was sidelined for a month after tearing a knee ligament in a fall from a running motorcycle during the filming of her movie, 뜨거운 것이 좋아 (I Like It Hot).[10]
The remaining four members continued performing until late July, when Hyuna was withdrawn from the group by her parents due to their concern over her problems with chronic gastroenteritis and fainting spells.[11] In autumn 2007, the talent agency Good Entertainment sent their trainee Yubin to JYP Entertainment as a replacement for Hyuna. She made her debut three days later in the group's live performance of "Tell Me" on Music Bank.[12]
Their first full-length album, The Wonder Years, was released the following week with "Tell Me". Due to the last-minute addition of Yubin, the album version does not contain her part. However, the performance version of the song was reworked to include a bridge with rapping by Yubin. The single was a hit and reached number one on various Korean television and internet music charts, including KBS's Music Bank.[citation needed] The choreography for the song was simple and widely imitated: by October, many fan performances of the dance circulated on video sharing sites such as YouTube and Daum,[13] including one by a group of policemen who were eventually profiled on SBS's Star King. The dance's popularity was immense and the explosive attention it received became widely known as the "Tell Me Virus", earning the group the title of 'Korea's Little Sisters'.[citation needed] Videos of the dance came from fans in the Philippines and as far away as France, and the song also reach #1 in Thailand.[11]
The Wonder Girls had an extensive promotional schedule for their album and in late 2007 they began performing their second single, "이 바보" ("This Fool"). They made numerous appearances on variety and game shows, sang live on radio shows, at music festivals, on music programs, and in special joint performances with other groups such as Big Bang and Girls' Generation. MTV also broadcast four seasons of The Wonder Life, a reality TV series starring the girls. The Wonder Girls returned to Korea in spring 2008. In May, a picture of each member was released over a period of five days, starting with Yeeun] and ending with Sohee. A preview track from the upcoming single was then released. There were rumours that Hyuna would be returning to the group; JYP Entertainment, however, said that the story was untrue.

Astronaut and physician Mae Jemison was born on October 17, 1956, in Decatur, Alabama, the youngest child of Charlie Jemison, a roofer and carpenter, and Dorothy (Green) Jemison, an elementary school teacher. Her sister, Ada Jemison Bullock, became a child psychiatrist, and her brother, Charles Jemison, is a real estate broker. The family moved to Chicago, Illinois, when Jemison was 3 years old to take advantage of better educational opportunities there, and it is that city that she calls her hometown.

Throughout her early school years, Jemison's parents were supportive and encouraging of her talents and abilities, and she spent a considerable amount of time in her school library reading about all aspects of science, especially astronomy. During her time at Morgan Park High School, she became convinced she wanted to pursue a career in biomedical engineering, and when she graduated in 1973 as a consistent honor student, she entered Stanford University on a National Achievement Scholarship.

As she had been in high school, Jemison was very involved in extracurricular activities at Stanford, including dance and theater productions, and served as head of the Black Student Union. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the university in 1977. Upon graduation, she entered Cornell University Medical College and, during her years there, found time to expand her horizons by studying in Cuba and Kenya and working at a Cambodian rfugee camp in Thailand.

After she obtained her M.D. in 1981, Jemison interned at Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center and later worked as a general practitioner. For the next two and a half years, she was the area Peace Corps medical officer for Sierra Leone and Liberia where she also taught and did medical research. Following her return to the United States in 1985, Jemison made a career change and decided to follow a dream she had nurtured for a long time. In October of that year, she applied for admission to NASA's astronaut training program. The Challenger disaster of January 1986 delayed the selection process, but when she reapplied a year later, Jemison was one of the 15 candidates chosen from a field of about 2,000.

When Jemison was chosen on June 4, 1987, she became the first African-American woman admitted into the astronaut training program. She became an astronaut after more than a year of training, earning the title of science mission specialist, a job that would make her responsible for conducting crew-related scientific experiments on the space shuttle.

On September 12, 1992, Jemison finally flew into space with six other astronauts aboard the Endeavour on mission STS47. During her eight days in space, she conducted experiments on weightlessness and motion sickness on the crew and herself. In all, she spent more than 190 hours in space before returning to Earth on September 20, 1992. Following her historic flight,

Jemison noted that society should recognize how much both women and members of other minority groups can contribute if given the opportunity.

In recognition of her accomplishments, Jemison received a number of accolades, including several honorary doctorates, the 1988 Essence Science and Technology Award, the Ebony Black Achievement Award in 1992 and a Montgomery Fellowship from Dartmouth College in 1993. She was also named Gamma Sigma Gamma Woman of the Year in 1990. Additionally, in 1992, an alternative public school in Detroit, Michigan, the Mae C. Jemison Academy, was named after her.

Jemison has been a member of several prominent organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Chemical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and served on the board of directors of the World Sickle Cell Foundation from 1990 to 1992. She has also served as an advisory committee member of the American Express Geography Competition and an honorary board member of the Center for the Prevention of Childhood Malnutrition.

After leaving the astronaut corps in March 1993, Jemison accepted a teaching fellowship at Dartmouth. She also established the Jemison Group, a company that seeks to research, develop and market advanced technologies.

Rimsha Masih (Urdu: رمشا مسیح ‎ — some early reports used the first name "Rifta" or "Riftah") is a Pakistani girl [1] from Mehrabadi, Islamabad,[2] who was arrested by Pakistani police in August 2012 and who potentially faced the death penalty for blasphemy under Pakistan's blasphemy law[3][4] for allegedly desecrating pages of the Quran (or a book containing verses from the Quran) by burning.[5][6] She is a member of Pakistan's Christian minority.[3]
She was eventually acquitted of all charges.

There are conflicting claims as to whether she has a mental health condition: allegedly few sources claim that she has Down Syndrome, and her family has been reported to have told her lawyer that she suffers from mental illness.[5][8][9] There are also conflicting reports about her age: although most sources describe her as 11 years old, she has also been claimed to be aged 14 or 16.[9] Following a medical examination,[8] a medical report estimated her age as being 14, and therefore a minor under Pakistani law, and stated that she had mental capacity lower than would be expected for someone of that age. This report was questioned by her accuser's lawyer, who accused the report of "favouring" her.[10] Now the prosecuter is claiming that Rimsha is actually 21 years old [1] Some reports state that she is illiterate, and may have unknowingly picked the pages of the book up from a waste dump

Her arrest caused widespread condemnation, both within Pakistan and internationally,[4] and has been followed by a rise of inter-communal tension within Pakistan.[5] The President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, has ordered an investigation into the arrest.[5]
France "urged the Pakistani authorities to release this young girl" and has reaffirmed that "the very existence of the crime of blasphemy infringes upon fundamental freedoms, namely the freedom of religion or belief, as well as the freedom of expression. It urges Pakistan to comply with its international commitments in this area, notably the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights as well as the Convention on the Rights of the Child."[12]
Members of the All Pakistan Ulema Council joined with the Pakistan Interfaith League in protest against the accusations.[13] Her father made a personal appeal to President Zardari on her behalf.[14] The lawyer representing her accuser demanded that she should be convicted and stated that if she was released, stated that Muslims could "take the law into their own hands".[2]
The civic organization Avaaz launched a campaign to release Rimsha. As of September 2012, the campaign petition had gathered over one million signatures.

Newborn Baby Girl Biography

A mother who left her newborn baby on a beach in Hawaii shortly after it was born is being hunted by police.
The full-term, eight-pound newborn, was found crying in the sand at Sandy Beach in east Honolulu soon after she was born on Sunday.
State Department of Human Services Director Patricia McManaman said police were investigating the case as endangering the welfare of a minor and child abandonment.
A woman parked at Sandy Beach in east Honolulu sometime between 11p.m on Sunday and midnight heard several people screaming, police spokesman Michelle Yu said.
A few minutes later the screaming stopped and the woman heard a baby crying. She walked toward the ocean and saw an infant on the sand.
The woman took the baby, which was naked, to the nearby Queen's Medical Center.
Ms McManaman said the baby was "recovering well" in hospital.
She said. 'We're just very grateful this child is alive and doing well.'
If no one comes forward to claim the child, the Department of Human Services will file a petition this week with family court, asking for custody.
If no family is identified, the state will ask the court for permission to release a photo of the infant.
In 2007, Hawaii became the 48th state with a baby safe haven law which provides mothers with  immunity from prosecution for leaving an unharmed newborn within 72 hours of birth at a fire department, police station or hospital or with emergency services

While you're changing your newborn baby's diapers, you might notice that their genitalia isn't exactly what you expected. Don't be alarmed—depending on your baby's gestational age, his or her genitals might appear different. So what is considered normal? It's not unusual for newborn baby's genitals to have these characteristics:
Baby girls—especially ones born prematurely—may have a noticeably large clitoris and inner labia. A full-term baby girl will have a prominent outer labia.
Your newborn baby girl might have some whitish discharge or bloody mucus (like a "mini-period") in their diaper during the first few weeks. That's perfectly normal.
Premature baby boys tend to have flat scrotum with undescended testicles. In a full-term baby boy, the testicles should have descended and the scrotum might appear swollen.
If vaginal bleeding continues beyond the first week or if scrotal swelling doesn't disappear after six months, consult with a doctor. Chances are that everything is fine, but better safe than sorry!

Babies have always been my passion.  I started babysitting for families when I was 13, and from that point on, children became the focus of my career.  While still in high school, I continued to babysit for various families and began working in a daycare for children ranging from newborn to 12 years.  While I enjoyed every age, infants quickly became my favorite.  My interest in children led me to obtain an Associate’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the Pennsylvania State University, graduating in 2004.
In the summer of 2004, my husband, Travis, and I married and established a home in Duluth, GA.  Upon settling in, I began working at Kindercare Learning Center as the lead teacher in the toddler class.  After working there for several months, I felt I needed something more, so moved on and became a nanny for a wonderful family and their newborn.  I enjoyed a year with them until I realized I needed to work fewer hours as a nanny in order to develop my own business.
In 2005, my friend and I became certified educators for The Happiest Baby on the Block as well as business associates.  We opened Happy Baby Solutions, a baby nurse and nanny placement company.  For the next 7 years, we successfully operated Happy Baby Solutions until it became clear that I was missing the hands-on aspect of baby care.  I decided to resign as co-owner of Happy Baby Solutions at the end of 2012 to pursue being an independent infant care specialist and labor doula.

Meanwhile, In 2007, my husband and I experienced the wonderful, natural water birth of our first son at North Fulton hospital. It was very empowering for me and I became completely fascinated with the entire process of childbirth.  Two years later, my husband and I adopted two children from Ethiopia; a 4 year old girl and a 13 year old boy.  In 2010, our family was expecting another little boy. Sadly, at 39 weeks he was stillborn, having contracted Cytomegalovirus in utero.  We conceived again in the summer of 2010 and had a beautiful home birth, bringing us our baby girl in April, 2011.  Home birth was one of the best experiences I have ever had!

Through the years, I have learned so much about newborns; through education and classes, from my own personal experience, from other newborn care specialists and from working with families and their babies.  I have taken breastfeeding courses and breast fed two of my own children.  I am pleased to be able to support breastfeeding mothers as well as those who choose bottle feeding.  My goal is for you to have a healthy, happy baby and mother, regardless of feeding choices.  I have worked with several sets of twins and triplets and love working with more than one baby at a time. One of my greatest passions is helping all family members adapt to the newborn stage when adjustments can be difficult and life may feel as if it has been turned upside down.

I'm a very warm, nurturing and friendly individual whose passion for babies is evident in everything I do.  I believe parents have the ultimate authority and intuitive sense when it comes to bringing their children into the world and raising them.  Thus, I share with each parent what is possible, letting each choose what works best for their family.  While I may have different philosophies about raising babies and how to get them sleeping through the night, I believe you, as the parents, must be comfortable with the method we choose together.  I am here to help educate you on the many methods of baby care and will work with you to develop a plan that works best for everyone involved.  If you’re a “veteran parent” and just looking for some rest, I can stay at night and care for your baby while you sleep.  If you’re a first time parent looking for guidance and support in newborn care, sleeping, feeding, scheduling or any other baby related questions, I can help you with that as well.  I simply want to assist you in feeling more confident as a parent and provide you with tools to use when my time with you is complete!
